About KETHEA
KETHEA is a non-profit organization -according to law of the National Ministry of Health FEK 963/Β/26-7-01 and 19252/FEK/ 248/Β/28-2-02. It has been operating since 1983, when ITHAKI, the first Greek therapeutic community for drug addicts was established.
ΚΕΤΗΕΑ, in special consultative status with the UΝ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is the first organisation set up in Greece (Law 1729787) for the purposes of treatment, prevention, professional training and research in the field of drug addiction. ΚΕΤΗΕΑ currently operates a nation-wide network of services and is been one of the principal implementation bodies of the Greek National Strategy against drugs. Αll services are provided free of charge and don’t employ pharmaceutical substances or substitutes for the treatment of addiction. They are designed to meet the needs of users with different profiles: adults, adolescents, prisoners, addicted mothers, migrants, etc. In addition, they are provided without any discrimination.
The therapeutic programmes of KETHEA are based on the therapeutic community model, an international effective approach aiming at providing recovery from psychological dependence and the social reintergration of drug addicts. KETHEA includes the following therapeutic programmes: ITHAKI, STROFI, EXODOS, PAREMVASSI, DIAVASSI, NOSTOS, EXELIXIS, ARIADNE, PLEFSI, EN DRASSI, MOSAIC, ANADYSSI, KIVOTOS, OXYGONO, ALFA, PILOTOS, EXANDAS, Specialised programme for Addicted Mothers, Counselling Centre for Prisoners in Thessaloniki, Support and Re-entry Centre for Released Prisoners in Thessaloniki, The ITHAKI help-line for psychological support (1145), the Prevention, Research and Training sectors and the The Printing Unit "SCHEMA & CHROMA". |
